Appointments

Our standard consultation time is 15 minutes. If you believe your problem is complex or have multiple issues to discuss, please advise the receptionist so that a longer appointment can be booked. Mental health consults, paperwork for Centrelink/insurance/superannuation medicals & pre-employment medicals require longer appointments.

Appointments are required for repeat scripts and referrals.

If additional family members wish to see the doctor at the same time, please book a separate appointment for each family member.

Please call us or book on HotDoc – we do not accept appointment requests via email.

Zero Tolerance

Edgewater Medical Centre has a Zero Tolerance policy for abusive or threatening behaviour towards staff, patients and visitors. This includes shouting, swearing, threats, name calling, racist or sexist comments and inappropriate gestures. Anyone exhibiting this behaviour will be required to leave the premises immediately and may be asked to transfer their medical care to another provider. We will involve the police should we deem it necessary.

It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all time and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff. Full details can be discussed with Reception.

Referrals

If additional treatment is required outside of our service within this surgery this will be discussed with you during your consultation.
